Investigation of Polyuria	

Only three basic disorders can account for polyuria (arbitrarily defined as a persistent twenty-four-hour urine volume greater than 2.5l) and polydipsia (excessive thirst): primary polydipsia, cranial diabetes insipidus, and nephrogenic diabetes insipidus.
